Adventure Day Camp
Adventure Day Camp
Four or five days of big adventures: hiking, biking, canoeing, and caving (ages 9-13).
The APEX Adventure Day Camp engages participants with a new outdoor adventure each day–hiking a trail to a sweet spot, biking through challenging Tucker County terrain, paddling the scenic flatwaters of the Cheat River, and exploring a wild cave. Through these adventures, participants build confidence and develop their technical skills with the support of their peers and experienced instructors. This trip is for the kid who wants to spend a week outside while having fun.
In 2023, we will offer four Adventure Day Camps:
The Adventure Day Camps (5/29-6/1 and 6/19-22) for 9-11 year olds will run concurrent with the Wild Day Camps. We hope that this will offer families with children ranging from 5 to 11 years old a week full of fun and adventure.
The Adventure Day Camp Multi-age July (on 7/13-17) is a unique opportunity for 8-17 year olds. With a wide range of ages the adventures will be skill-level appropriate for everyone. Activities include hiking, caving, canoeing/kayaking, river exploration, and a day of rafting on the Cheat River Narrows with Blackwater Outdoor Adventures.
The Adventure Day Camp Multi-age August (on 8/21-25), for 9-13 year olds, will be a full 5 days of adventure, capping off the week with a day of rafting on the Cheat River Narrows with Blackwater Outdoor Adventures. Check out the Expedition Gallery from 2022! This camp will run concurrent with the Wild Day Camp for 5-8 year olds.
